On the 3rd October 2021 I was honoured to become a Kuan Yin Lineage Holder after learning to chant the names of the 87 Buddhas of the Da Bei Zhou, the Greatest Compassion Mantra
The power of this mantra is embodied in 88 lines, each bearing the name of a Buddha devoted to serving all souls, with each line holding unique and sacred blessings.
On 10th October 2021 I received the transmission for this great honour from Master Zhi Gang Sha.
There are currently 600 + Kuan Yin Lineage Holders in the world today.
Kuan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, is revered and honoured around the world for being “one who hears
the cries of the world.” With the greatest compassion and mercy, she made a total commitment to end all
suffering and will help anyone who calls her name.
She is particularly associated with :-
- Compassion and mercy
- Healing and comfort
- Protection
- Motherly love
- Peace and forgiveness
- Helping beings through fear and suffering
- Compassion toward animals and all living beings
Kuan Yin and Animals
There is a particularly natural connection between Kuan Yin and animals.
The underlying Buddhist ideal of compassion extends beyond humans. Animals are sentient beings capable of suffering, fear, attachment and pleasure. Compassion therefore isn't restricted to our own species.
Some people who work spiritually with animals feel a strong affinity with Kuan Yin because of this. They may quietly invoke her while sitting with an injured, frightened, dying, or otherwise vulnerable animal.
